Supported by the Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on
Sport for Development and Peace
With streetfootbalworld and scort…go for it!, both active in the field of football for development and peace, two important organizations show interest to partner with the BaKaFORUM network.
BaKaFORUM therefore can offer a platform for cooperation not only between TVandMedia producers but also between those and partner organizations active on site. It’s a potential win-win situation, since both “streetfootballworld” and “scort” can offer content, meanwhile TVandMedia producers can offer visibility. And both can join into a venture for development and peace.

THE SOCIAL SPORT ORGANISATIONS
streetfootballworld
is a social profit organisation that links relevant actors in the field of Development through Football. Established in 2002, the organisation encourages global partnerships for development in order to contribute to positive social change.
The streetfootballworld network comprises more than 80 local initiatives worldwide. With the network's support, streetfootballworld develops approaches to social challenges by working with governments, businesses and NGOs, and providing advice on development, investment and business strategy.

THE BaKaFORUM 2010 WORKSHOP
At BaKaFORUM 2010, both sides – TVandMedia and Sport - will meet in a special workshop presenting their aims and activities. They then will evaluate the potential for cooperation and define the next steps. Please, find details in the workshop agenda.
The TVandMedia side will present the

The Sport side – i.e. streetfootballworld and scort…go for it!
will present their aims, their network, their activities and their specific interest in cooperation with media.
Football and Media Bridging the Worlds
therefore is a project opening a new dimension: Media is an obvious tool for education and development and potentially peace, as sport is being acknowledged by the international community and by the United Nations in particular as a powerful means of development and peace.
The preamble of the “Bridging” project says:
Sport and media are engaging tools for development and peace building.
Sport can bring people together and is attractive content.
Media, and especially TV, today still are the most efficient platforms for visibility.
“Bridging the Worlds – Football & Media” shall use both as tools for development
and peace in a very practical way.
By sport, youth from different areas, different social layers, different ethnicities,
different cultures shall experience the possibility and the opportunities of meeting
each other, doing sport with each other, running for common aims and developing
common values.
By media production, film work with light equipment, youth from different layers,
ethnicities, cultures (countries and continents) can tell each other their stories and
share mutual experiences.
By educational activities within and outside schools, youth from different worlds shall enter the world of mutual knowledge in order to better understand each other on the basis of values in education.
Goals in particular include improving media, social and physical skills, capacity
building and strengthening values in education while using football and media as
tools for cultural exchange and social integration.
The project therefore is combining both sport and media for development and peace and is combining them on a global level in a format of international television co-production and program exchange
